Making Women Self-Reliant!
Apr 28, 2022

The contribution of women is indispensable in a country’s socio-economic growth, and the economic empowerment of women is a precondition for sustainable development. Henceforth, they are now undergoing several training sessions to learn skills to promote financial stability. SSS Foundation envisions enhancing the livelihood of impoverished women through various training, thereby making them financially independent.

Sui Dhaaga is one such initiative by SSS Foundation that empowers underprivileged women enabling them to accomplish their goals and raise their living standards. SSS Foundation, along with Gyan Kunj, has commenced this joint initiative in Bawana near New Delhi. Under this initiative, underprivileged women and girls of this area are provided free training programs associated with sewing and stitching. Currently, around 50 students are trained in the morning batches. Recently, a Fashion Show was organized as a part of the initiative wherein future designers from the disadvantaged section had displayed their custom-made dresses on themselves to showcase their talent, ideas, and aspirations. For this initiative, SSS Foundation has funded the remuneration scheme for the tutors and guest trainers that helps hundreds of women and girls to embrace economic stability.

This training has helped underprivileged women become empowered, self-sustained and independent. After completing the training, they felt confident to take up sewing employment and assignment. Through this training, the women of Bawana will be able to raise their standard of livelihood and create an impact on their families and society in the long run.
